The program will provide training and mentoring opportunities for High School Seniors and College Freshmen who want to take a more active role in their current life interests and work towards reaching personal leadership goals with the intention of empowering their communities.

VIM, Inc. has chocked great success in community advocacy. Here in the United States, VIM, Inc. organized an educative Hypertension outreach for the Ghanaian community in Tracy Towers to discuss the disease, how to prevent it and also manage it if already diagnosed. In Ghana a similar health outreach was organized whereby over 100 people were screened and vaccinated for Hepatitis B. Recently VIM, Inc. partnered with other organizations and fund-raised over $5,000 to help pay for the surgery of a three year old boy born with a growing tumor in Ghana.

CLEMENT’S SURGERY

Clement pic

Clement Quaison was born on January 20, 2012 in Moree, Central Region –Ghana, to Amanda Mensah and Kwasi. Clement at birth had a growth on the left chest which was not medically diagnosed or biopsied due to financial restraints. Now at age 3, Clement’s tumor is growing expedientially as he age and spreading to his upper left arm. He is in chronic pain, and this has been affecting his maturity.

He was admitted to Korle-Bu Hospital in Accra, Ghana when he was 8 months old and has undergone several treatments. His doctors advise he needs urgent surgery to prevent damages to his heart due to the location of the tumor. Clement’s surgery is estimated to cost $3,500.00 . However, with his medications and other postoperative expenses we hope to raise $5,500.00 for him. Clement’s only support system is his grandmother, a petty trader who lives in Cape Coast, Ghana.
